At Cedar Key Island Bakery, our passion for baking started in our grandmother's kitchen and we remember when our food supply wasn't contaminated with pesticides and harmful chemicals. 


We have made a commitment to use only organic, non-GMO, pesticide free, glyphosate free and no use of organics labeled with the Apeel® sticker from the ingredients in the products that we serve you, whenever possible. 


We are continuing to identify food products that have been contaminated with things that are harmful to your health, and we have committed to avoid using them in our baking.


Just a thought.... you might not be gluten intolerant. You might just have an aversion to the poisons being sprayed on crops.

Cedar Key Island Bakery Bakery uses Organic Unbleached Flour milled from Organic Hard Red Wheat & Organic Malted Barley. Certified Organic by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food.

Pesticide free and Glyphosate free.

Cedar Key Island Bakery Bakery uses Organic Raw Cane Sugar from Florida Crystals Farms to ensure a quality product. Florida Crystals® Regenerative Organic Raw Cane Sugar is minimally processed, USDA Organic, Vegan, & Non-GMO.

Cedar Key Island Bakery uses a European style, 95% Grass-Fed Butter from cows that graze in New Zealand or Ireland. Made using  pasteurized cream from these animals, our butter has more flavor and is richer with a higher butterfat content.

Our Grade-A, USDA-certified Organic Milk from Grass Fed Cows is filtered, homogenized, and ultra-pasteurized (held at high temperature for a short time), and contains added Vitamin D3. At 3.5% milkfat, it’s thick, creamy, and smooth, with an almost buttery taste.

We use Farm Fresh Eggs that are responsibly and sustainably raised by local farmers in our area who feed their chickens non-GMO protein feed. Cage-Free and given an all natural vegetable based diet, these hens are clucking healthy.

Seed oils are a huge no no in our kitchen. We go old school and use purified lard. The  lard we use is a solid shortening made of pure pork fat with a neutral flavor, making it ideal for use in both pastry dough and donuts. This is how it use to be done!

We've opted to use the best Vanilla that money can buy. Vanilla planifolia also known as Bourbon/Madagascar Vanilla. Sure, we could have gone with the cheaper Vanilla tahitiensis aka Tahitian Vanilla, but we think you'll taste the difference.

We use a pure fine grain (non-iodized) sea salt from Australia that is packaged here in the USA in all our baked goods.

Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, Cloves, Allspice, Cardamom, Star Anise, Mace, Saffron and Black Pepper. We work hard to procure spices that are grown organically and certified by a third-party organization. All Certified Organic spices are non-GMO.
